   I have been designing web sites for about two and a half years, mostly for fun.  Last fall I was offered a work-study job at my school, the University of Maine at Farmington, where I would be able to make web sites for theWomen's Studies Center. Since then, I've been working on all kinds of projects. I like making web pages and also design graphics in my spare time.  My pride and joy site is the Fifty-One% site. Fifty-One% is a feminist magazine that I co-edit. I spent the summer making a web site full of resources from last year's Maine Women's Studies Conference.  I recently put together a Xena and Gabrielle Site of links and fanfiction that won an award.  When I graduate in the spring I hope to be able to put some of these skills to work for real. I have a web design company (though it's just me) called El Sharoane Productions.

   I just found this program that pays people to surf the web. The catch (and it's small) is that you have to keep a toolbar at the bottom of your browser that flashes different advertising banners at you. I've found that it isn't too bad once you get used to it. However, you can make (by yourself) about $12 a month with promises that it will go up, and you get paid unlimited amounts for referring people. It's a pyramid-type system, only they don't make you pay them first. It's free. Give it a shot! If my referral number doesn't come up automatically, it is EOZ-118.
